Like wall-to-wall carpeting, carpet tiles
are a great way to bring warmth and coziness to a bedroom. Unlike wall-to-wall
carpeting, these 20 inch squares make for an easy install-it-yourself job, and
you can even replace a damaged square later if one is ruined by spills.

1)
To remove old wall-to-wall
carpeting, wear heavy duty work gloves, start in a corner, and pull up on the
carpet. Work a flat bar underneath if necessary, and pry the carpet up.

2)
Roll up the carpet as you free
it and the roll up the padding that’s underneath.

3)
Use a flat bar to pry up the ‘tackless’
strips around the perimeter of the room being very careful of their sharp, protruding
nails. Then, vacuum the floor thoroughly.

4)
Measure one wall, divide its
length in half, and then mark the midpoint on the floor using a permanent
marker.

5)
Use a framing square to measure
the width of a tile, divide in half, and make a center mark on the tile.

6)
Place the tile against a wall,
aligning its center with the wall’s center. Then mark the floor on one side of
the tile.

7)
Use the marked tile to repeat
the process on all four wall of the room. (If the room isn’t a rectangle, you’ll
need to adjust this approach by following the instructions provided with the
carpet)

8)
Snap chalk lines between each
matching set of marks on the opposite walls, and make a mark on the side of the
lines that the midpoints are on.

9)
Place the first carpet tile
against one corner of the X that’s marked on the floor. You can arrange the
patterns on the tiles in a specific design or just lay them on randomly.

10) Add additional tiles, along the chalk line,
working from the centre of the room towards the corner.

11) To cut a tile, flip it over and
lay it in place. Use the permanent marker to make a mark on each side where the
tile overlaps the adjacent tile. Lay the tile on a scrap board and hold a
straight edge over the two marks. Run a sharp utility knife along the straight
edge a few times to cut the rubber backing of the tile.

12) Once a quadrant of the floor is
covered in tiles, check the alignment with the chalk lines and the spacing
between the tiles.

13) Working from the middle of the
room toward the corner, life one tile at a time, peel off the backing, and
press the tile into place.

14) Move to an adjacent quadrant of
the floor and repeat the process, until the floor is complete.

15) Make sure to save any extra tiles because if
any squares get damaged you can simply peel them up and stick down a new one.

There’s a plethora of hosting companies in the UK that tell you they are the best and will deliver excellent quality service every minute of every day. Find out in this article what essential features you need to find in your host.

Hosting companies are divided up between those that run Linux and those that run Windows. If your website is HTML or PHP then it’s better to choose a Linux provider. Be it ASP or .NET then you will need a Windows provider. Make sure to ask your host before you sign up which one they run.

If you want to get down to the low level and control how your website works then you need to get access to the server panel. Common panels in use are cPanel (the most common, and best), Plesk, Sphere and other cheap and nasty home built ones. Avoid the latter.

cPanel is the easiest ones to use, and is the most secure. Security is becoming an important criteria in the world of websites because hackers are becoming more and more restless and think of nothing except hacking a few websites for a laugh. On a more serious note, your website security is essential.

Support should be exemplary. If you cannot get through to your hosting company, or they take 48 hours to reply to an email then they obviously are too busy to listen to your query. Find one that is responsive, you never know when you’ll need their expert advice quickly.

One way of getting a flavour of the hosting company is to ask to see some testimonials. If they’ve only got two, and they look a bit contrived then you should ignore. Should they have a lot, try phoning one or two of their clients up and ask how their hosting company is.

There
are plenty of outdoor drainage methods that can be used if you have any problems that arise on the outside of your home. One of the most frequent problems you can find on the exterior in your garden or otherwise is flooding caused by poor soil drainage. Sometimes this can be as the result of excess water accumulating in dips or on slopes in the garden that
mean that this water has to go somewhere and floods due to this. You should always attempt to discover what the actual problem is before considering which methods to use to fix it or prevent it happening again.

Bad soil drainage can often be caused by clay soil and in this case there are outdoor drainage methods to use for this. This soil can retain water in the soil and around the general area. You should start by getting rid of as much of this additional water as possible
from the surface and then fill in the area left with a high quality mixture of compost and soil. You should ensure that this process is done a few times over several months to make sure that you notice an improvement in the drainage.

Other outdoor drainage methods that you can use are for sorting out the issue of compact soil. If you have soil that is compact in your back garden then this does not let water soak deep into the ground and therefore you will be unable to prevent flooding because of this. You should try and fill this particular area with organic compost and by doing
this the soil and the drainage you experience in your garden should improve dramatically meaning you do not need to worry about this for a while. However, it should be noted that this should be carried out a few times so as to maintain this quality in the soil.

Outdoor drainage methods that are common are to raise the level of your back garden area so as to improve on the bad drainage situation. You should make sure that you are adding
extra soil to the correct areas that need attention though as if you don’t then this will not solve anything. This is extremely important and you need to check and identify the bad areas of the garden before employing this method. You should also try to keep an eye on where the water drains off to and how it flows.

It is important when you use any of the methods highlighted that you do them correctly as if you make mistakes then you can make drainage worse and cause further issues in the future. You should bear in mind that that it may take a number of attempts and quite regularly quite a few months in order to completely solve drainage problems. This is something that needs to be
maintained so as to prevent issues from now on. By employing these outdoor drainage methods you are committing yourself to constantly monitoring the state of your drainage and
making sure that you stop any future problems from happening.

If there is anything that can break the ice among people and create a relaxed atmosphere, it’s laughter. Laughter is probably the best remedy when it comes to making people talk, make them relaxed and actually join in the fun. This is especially true for company events. You bring in people from different departments on one night to mix and mingle and have fun with all colleagues and the only thing that can bind everyone together apart from the buffet spread is of course the entertainment that you have on the night.

There are many types of corporate entertainment that have been tried and tested and it’s about time that someone tried something different. Some of these things are corporate comedy events. These kinds of events have the one element that makes of breaks corporate entertainment events which is laughter. If it is a good act, you’d find people cracking up each time but if it’s a bad act, then there goes your efforts of planning an event. Everyone will both go back laughing and keeping the memory of the event till the next corporate affair or everyone will go back thinking that they’ve wasted their time dressing up for the night.

A successful corporate comedy event can transform the usual dull banquet hall into holiday party extravaganza. Sure it’s different but it’s probably a new idea which will get all your corporate officers and staff in a good time and help break down the barriers within the organization. Here are a few things that you can look into in planning your corporate comedy event:

1)	Book the right act

This is extremely crucial and important. The comedy act should be someone with vast experience of dealing with different types of crowd and have the expertise to not only give slapstick humor but to engage his or her audience. The act should also be familiar with corporate events. It’s really no use getting an act that has only done private non-corporate events such as birthdays and dinner parties. An experienced act is also valuable as you definitely do not want to use an amateur who’s just learning comedy to do it while your reputation is at stake. Look at the CV’s of these acts to note the list of past events and performances that they’ve done. A good agent can help you find an act that meets your requirements as well as your budget.

2)	Sound and lighting

Good PA systems for the venue is crucial as no matter how good an act, if nobody can hear them it will be gone to waste. Good light is also important. The elements of sound and light create a good combination of showmanship and get the crowds interest on going. Another element to consider would be a riser or stage that will allow better sight lines for the audience is also helpful but not required.

3)	Food & Drinks

If you are planning to have dinner served for the event, then the best time is to have it before the comedy act. This will enable people to pay attention to the stage as well as avoid the noises of clearing dishes that distract the audience. It is also polite to look at your entertainer instead of the food. If you are not serving heavy meals, then finger foods on each table is good as it is not distracting.

Comedy acts normally should take between 45 minutes to an hour-too long and people will get uneasy which will eventually break the momentum.
