BAL Prime APD - acrylic primer for fixing ceramic tiles

BAL Prime APD is a rapid-drying, acrylic primer suitable for use prior to the fixing of ceramic tiles, glass mosaics or natural stone to a number of backgrounds and prior to the application of a levelling compound. It provides surface strength and helps to reduce the porosity of the background. It is blue in colour to help even coverage on application. When required a second coat may be applied after 15 minutes.

A modified acrylic polymer disperson for use as a primer for a variety of backgrounds/bases prior to fixing ceramic tiles, mosaics and natural stone and prior to the applicationof BAL-BASE levelling compounds and BAL-WP1 TANKING SYSTEM

Really Technical

BAL PRIME APD isolates products containing calcium sulphate such as gypsum plaster and anhydrite screeds from cement-based adhesives, thus minimising the risk of reaction between the two materials. It also provides surface strenght to friable surfaces and reduces the porosity of porous backgrounds/bases, thus preventing the formation of air bubbles and prolonging the flow tim with levelling compounds and extending the open time of tile adhesives. The primer is green in colour to help ensure that a complete even coating is obtained.
