BAL Motobond - tile adhesive for showrooms
BAL Motobond is specially designed for use in motor workshop, forecourts and showrooms, this adhesive is formulated to withstand heavy loading and trafficking. Suitable for use with large format tiles onto most standard bases such as concrete, cement: sand screeds.

Surface Considerations
NEW CONCRETE BASES:
Before commencing tiling ensure that bases have been allowed to dry out by exposure to air for at least 6 weeks.
Before commencing tiling ensure that screeds have been allowed to dry out by exposure to air for at least 3 weeks or, if based on BAL-QUICKSET CEMENT, 24 hours.
EXISTING CONCRETE/SCREED BASES:
- Cut out all loose or hollow portions and make good with a 1:3 cement:sand mortar applied over a slurry bonding coat, see section on surface preparation. Alternatively, make good with BAL-MOTOBOND over a slurry bonding coat of 2 parts adhesive to 1 part BAL-BOND SBR.
- Carefully remove any soft or unsound residues of existing adhesive without damaging the base. Ensure remaining adhesive residue is sound and firmly bonded to the base.
CERAMIC/QUARRY TILE/TERRAZZO BASES:
- Check that existing finish is firmly adhering to the base.
- Remove any loose or hollow sounding areas and make good with a 1:3 cement:sand mortar applied over a slurry bonding coat, see section on surface preparation. Alternatively, make good with BAL-MOTOBOND over a slurry bonding coat of 2 parts adhesive to 1 part BAL-BOND SBR.
MASTIC ASPHALT BASES:
- Check that mastic asphalt is suitably sound (without brittleness, softening, etc.) with a natural float finish and laid on a firm rigid base.
- Ensure that surface is sufficiently regular to suit bedding depths of adhesive.
- Clean thoroughly to remove surface dirt using warm water and a suitable detergent. Remove all detergent
residues with clean water.
