BAL Bond SBR - priming agent for walls and floor
BAL BOND SBR is a water-based polymer, which can be used for many applications in the construction industry. Use as a slurry coat when mixed with hydraulic cement or gypsum plaster, as an admixture with sand and cement mortars, concrete and gypsum plaster or as a primer, sealer and dust proofer. BAL BOND SBR has good freeze-thaw stability.
Features
- Priming of plasters/screed/timber/vinyl surfaces
- Admixture for screeding/rendering mortars
- Promoting increased bond strength/waterproofing/performance properties
Technical
BAL Bond SBR is a water-based dispersion of a styrene-butadiene copolymer with a wide variety of uses in the construction industry, particularly as an admixture and bonding agent for cement and concrete applications. Once cured, the polymer is water and frost resistant.
Priming and Sealing
Apply BAL BOND SBR direct and undiluted
- to existing vinyl floor tiles. Provides a priming coat for the direct fixing of ceramic tiles with BAL cementitious adhesives.
- to the edges and reverse faces of sheet and board backgrounds prior to fixing ceramic wall tiles with BAL ready-mixed adhesives. Minimises distortion from atmospheric changes.
- to concrete floors to provide a dust free surface. For particularly dusty or porous surfaces prior to ceramic tiling, dilute 1 part BAL BOND SBR with 4 parts water.
Brush apply over the surface to be treated and allow to dry. When
used as a primer do not allow to dry for more than 24 hours. Timber must be free from surface treatments prior to the application of BAL BOND SBR. Lay ceramic tiles in accordance with BS 5385
Parts 1-4 and the relevant BAL product data sheet.
Waterproofing * see brochure for more info
Waterproof finishes for swimming pools, concrete water tanks, pool surrounds, external decks and cladding, fountains and water features can be provided through the combination of correctly applied BAL BOND SBR : cement slurry coats and screeds and renderings modified with BAL BOND SBR. Also suitable for use with potable water.
The use of BAL BOND SBR:cement slurry coats alone will significantly reduce water transmission and provide a membrane impervious to standing water (without hydrostatic pressure).
